Focusing on classic myths and legends of ancient Greece, students will learn to act, write, direct and produce their own dramatic scenes, which will include many of the characters from Mt. Olympus and the world of the ancient Greeks. Throw down thunderbolts with Zeus! Ride the wind with Hermes the Messenger. Fight heroic clashes with heroes like Hercules, Odysseus and Achilles.
The camp is limited to 35 students who are 10 years of age as of June 30, 2021, and are no more than 12 years old as of June 30, 2012.
Students will spend their days playing games, creating characters, collaborating on script- writing and producing their final performance (to be presentedon Saturday, July 24, 2021).

Daily Schedule for Monday, July 19th thru Friday, July 23rd:
Being prompt for students to arrive & leave on time is a must! Students are to be dropped off and picked-up at front doors of the Brock, located off North Main Street. Pull in the half circle drive and let your student come-into the building where they will be greeted and their attendance verified.
9:00 – 9:25 – Introductory games and warm-ups
9:30 – 10:30 – Morning rehearsal/script work 1
10:30 – 10:45 – Morning Snack break
10:45 – 12:00 – Morning Rehearsal/script work 2
12:00 – 12:45 – Lunch/recess / Games in Green Room 12:45 – 2:30 – Afternoon Rehearsal/Script work 1
2:30 – 3:00 – Afternoon Brain Break/Snack Break /Short recess 3:00 – 4:30 – Afternoon Rehearsal/Script work 2
Please note: There are no snack or drink machines located inside the Brock. We will provide large coolers with ice for students’ drinks. Their names should be written on their container(s). Snacks and additional beverage will need to be provided for your student to enjoy during their Snack Breaks.
The Arts Council will provide pizza and drinks on Friday, July 23rd, for students’ Cast Party. If your child cannot have pizza or soft drink that day please provide them a substitute meal. Snacks for Friday will still need to be provided by student’s family. Saturday’s lunch needs to be a NON messy meal due to students having on their costumes and possible make-up.
Saturday, July 24th, SHOW DAY Schedule:
Students are to arrive wearing their costumes.
4:30 – 5:00 – Daily Olympics – Games/Awards/Activities
9:30 – Make-up for those students requiring that for their character
10:45-11:45 Dress Rehearsals with Lighting & Sound Tech 11:45-12:30 Lunch & FINAL PICTURES
12:30-12:45 PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS & FRIENDS ARRIVE & are seated in the theatre
The tuition cost to attend the week long camp is $150 plus North Carolina’s sales tax. If tuition is paid with a credit card, a convenience fee of $5 will be added. A registration form is to be completed for each student attending the camp. Registration is limited to (35) students who meet the age limits. Registrations will be closed once the limit is met or no later than June 30, 2021, whichever comes first.
